# Authentication

All API requests require authentication using a Bearer token. You can obtain your API token from your dashboard account settings.

The [browser widget](/api-docs/sdk) is the exception: it sends a short-lived token from your backend to [Exchange Session](/api-docs/sdk/session). Do not put your Bearer token on the embed page.

Keep your API token secure and never share it publicly.

## Example Request Headers

Authorization: Bearer your_api_token_here
Accept: application/json
```

**Required Headers:**

- `Authorization` - Bearer token for authentication
- `Accept` - Must be set to `application/json` to receive JSON responses
- `Content-Type` - Required for POST requests, must be `application/json`
